New Site

Wow, I feel kind of lost on the new PTI website.
Forum feels strange.  Maybe I just need to get used to it?

  1. I know it's early...but I gotta say: not a fan. Admittedly, I don't like change....but....I don't know...not really feelin' this.... Kinda with their change to pigment inks - why not just change the lighter colors and keep the darker ones as they were. Sometimes big changes....aren't always good.

  2. I agree & there are lots of complaints on the Ask Papertrey link. I didn't read a lot. I finally found the message about how to update my account which I really wanted to do before the release. I also lost everything that I had put in my cart, although that didn't surprise me. I was really glad to read they were addressing the new inks. I've been pretty unhappy with them; much preferred the Palette ones. I'm hoping we'll all get used to it. Trying to read the forum is a challenge right now.

  3. Yeah, there are a lot of little (and a few big) things frustrating me as I try to navigate the new site and the new forum. While I'm not a big fan of change either, mostly for the learning curve, lol, I do think that the main issue (for me at least) is that this was the absolute worst time of the month to make such drastic changes! I have a feeling ordering volume might be down a little this month if folks are intimidated/fed up with all the newness at *this* time of all times. Hopefully, next month will see issues ironed out, some experience under our belts, and the focus on the new products, not on a new everything!

  4. I am trying not to get too frustrated with it. Change is always hard, I do like the style of the new site, like the icons and fonts, etc. But as far as navigating-it's a little more difficult-IMHO. But hopefully once all the kinks get worked out we will all come to love it. *hopefully* ;)

  5. I think if they had been able to release the new site and forums earlier in the week it would have given people more time to adjust. It's causing some panic with it being release night and all.

I do love that the cart is now tied into my log-in account.

I think they'll get things squared away shortly.

The forums are a little hard on the eyes with the white background but that's a simple fix that can be done after the big release, right??

  6. I'm with you all girls! I cannot imagine myself at 5am tomorrow morning my time trying to place an order - I can't see that colour very well and got a bit frustrated this afternoon trying to re-register. Also I seem to have lost my messages in the change over - I was trying to arrange a paper share but it seems to have disappeared into the papertrey ether :)

  7. Frankly, I'm just underwhelmed. I expected so much more from the new website. I am in marketing and we just launched our new website last week with all these interactive features and product techniques. I guess I thought PTI's new website would include all those technique videos in some kind of easy to access library. It kinda seems like they just changed graphics and rearranged things a bit. Like Chris, I have a real hard time with some of the colors. These old(er) eyes need contrast! And the forum is confusing. Lots of scrolling and clicking to get where you want to go. Something we definitely considered in our website design. And you used to be able to actually see the images in the stamp sets. Now they are so tiny in the thumbnail version. Let's hope it gets better because right now I miss the old site.

  8. I don't mind the change. What I do miss is the "view active posts" link that is on the old forum. I live by that link and don't like having to see what has been going on by checking each forum.

I too love the cart tied to my login - that will be very very nice. My computer crashed 6months or so ago and I lost emails, so I was very worried about having to prove I've purchased the sets I did (for anniversary qualification).
